On the other hand, Dr. Sri Sahithi Konidena, dermatologist and founder of Hyderabad-based Prime Derm Skin & Hair Clinic, says that she doesn’t think people will adopt it on a daily basis, and according to her, it is a momentary fad.
“One of the ingredients in the product is essential oil. It is the application of melted essential oil on the body. While it is interesting to see the process and apply it after heating it with a melted candle, at the end of the day, it is just an oil. Applying warm oil is an age-old practice, but it cannot be an everyday practice. It can temporarily relieve dryness and provide a soothing effect, but it is not recommended to apply it daily for a long time,” she explains.

Bhan says, “As a dermatologist, I admire body moisturizer candles because they represent an innovative and enjoyable way to hydrate your skin. A good quality product can become an important element in your skin care regimen, whether you want to add a little more sensory experience or not, especially if it contains high quality ingredients tested by dermatologists and appropriate precautions have been taken during use.”
Lalitha Arya, on the other hand, says she would use body moisturizer candles with caution, because when chemical heating occurs, the active ingredients can change their consistency.
According to Dr. Konidena, the consumption of this product is not advisable at all. She adds, “I would suggest not to consume it and take it occasionally for relief.”
