Listen to the story

Apple’s iPhone 17 series is about 6 months away from its expected launch, and although the official release date is not confirmed, the tech world offers a glimpse of what is in the store with leaks. From the display upgrade to a new chipset and refined design elements, the iPhone 17 is ready to be a solid heir for the iPhone 16 series. A new lineup is likely to come in September 2025 after Apple’s general fall schedule. Let’s take a close look at what rumors suggest about the upcoming iPhone 17 series designs, displays, chipsets, cameras and batteries.
iPhone 17: leak design, camera, battery, display details
Big performance?
One of the major changes rumored is a major performance on the standard iPhone 17. The report indicates that the Apple current is increasing the size of the screen from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, which aligns with the iPhone 16 Pro. This step seems to meet the growing demand of large screen, as more users are consuming media on their phone. Additionally, Apple is likely to introduce promotion technology throughout the iPhone 17 lineup, which means that all models can get a 120Hz refresh rate, which can make scrolling and video playback smooth. Rumors also point to the use of an anti -reflective coating to increase outdoor visibility, adding more values to the performance experience.
For Pro Max model, Apple seems to be glued with a 6.9-inch display, while the rumor can change the iPhone 17 Air iPhone Plus series and come up with a 6.6-inch screen.
Design changes for iPhone 17 Pro model
While the standard iPhone 17 is asked to stay sticking with the design of the current iPhone 16, the Apple Pro model can plan some new changes. Leaked CAD renders suggested a new rectangular camera bar design for the iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro. This updated camera module, allegedly spread over the width of the phone, is expected to give a cleaner and more modern look with round corners.
Interestingly, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be about 2 mm thinner than the current iPhone 16 Pro, which is one of the most thinner models in recent times. However, the standard iPhone 17 can keep its double camera setup and overall design similar to the iPhone 16, including the USB-C port and action buttons that were recently introduced.
New A19 chipset, better thermal
With each iPhone launch, the performance is set to achieve a boost with the introduction of apple’s new A19 chipset. This new chip with 8GB RAM is expected to provide strength to the iPhone 17 series, which provides rapid performance and better energy efficiency. While standard iPhone 17 and rumor slim models can get the A19 chip, the Pro model features A19 Pro for more high performance.
Additionally, Apple is asked to work on better thermal management for the iPhone 17 series, including a vapor chamber cooling system to keep the device from overheating during intensive functions such as gaming or video recording.
Major camera upgrade
The iPhone 17 can see a jump in the camera technique, especially on the front. The leak suggests that Apple will equip the iPhone 17 with a 24-megapixel front camera, which is a major jump from the 12-megapixel lens on the current model. This should lead to sharper, more detailed selfie. At the back, the iPhone 17 will probably stick to the 48-megapixel main camera, but will not include 5x telephoto zoom, which is expected to remain exclusive for the pro model.
In addition, at least an iPhone 17 models whispers of a mechanical aperture, which will allow users to adjust to how much light the lens enters the lens – a feature that will greatly improve the versatility of the camera in various lighting conditions. Pro models can maintain their three-lens setups, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max 48-megapixel wide, offers a combination of ultra-wide and telephoto cameras.
Battery, charging
Although solid details on battery capacity are still rare, the increased screen size suggests that the iPhone 17 can pack a larger battery compared to the iPhone 16 Pro, with a 3,582mAh battery. This can translate better batteries for users to life. On the charging front, the leaked signal on Apple is probably upgraded to the iPhone 17 series to support 35W charging. This will provide rapid charging time compared to the previous model, although it is still behind some Android contestants.
