A 33-year-old Indian-origin man in New York killed his younger brother and injured his mother, before committing suicide, according to the New York Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit.
Karamjit Multani, 33, shot and killed his brother Vipanpal Multani, 27, and also shot his mother in the stomach at their home in Richmond Hill, before shooting himself.
According to the brothers’ father, the family was enjoying a quiet evening with pizza when at around 10:30 p.m., Karamjit entered Vipanpal’s room and shot him without warning, CBS News reports.
The father managed to escape and sought help from a neighbor, who called 911.
The reason behind such violence against his family could not be immediately clear.
