Lemon and Baking Soda
If there is a lot of dirt or grease accumulated on the bulb, try this method. Make a paste by mixing the juice of one lemon with two tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl. Take a lemon slice, spread the paste on it and rub the bulb gently. Once clean, wipe it with a wet cloth and let it dry.

For extra sticky bulbs, mix a little detergent with a cup of vinegar. Dip a cloth in the solution and wipe the bulb clean. Then, let it dry completely before reinserting it into the fitting.
