The 2025 International Women’s Conference by the art of inauguration by President Draupadi Murmu in Bengaluru was a powerful festival of women empowerment. Speakers like filmmaker Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, actress Hema Malini and spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Ravi Shankar shared their insight. Hema reflected on her deep relations for dance, emphasizing yoga and meditation as her guiding forces, calling it a source of inner peace and spirituality.
In this event, Hema Malini shared that true role models are not made by design, but naturally emerge by being authentically and by overcoming challenges. He emphasized that life presents countless opportunities, and it is necessary to embrace each role with grace, commitment and happiness.
For him, dance is more than an art. He said, “Dance is my lifeline – when I dance, I feel spirituality and deeply connected to my inner self.” He said, “Yoga and meditation are pillars of my strength.”
Exposing the power of women, they described them as an incarnation of strength, flexibility and energy. He was proud to use Bharatanatyam as a medium to show India’s rich cultural heritage, bringing mythological stories into life on the global stage.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar played an important role of women in shaping a positive environment, emphasizing that their happiness enhances families and even nations. He described the feelings of women as a blessing, which is essential for a society filled with warm and joy.
He suggested that global conflicts could be reduced if more women play the role of leadership. Drawing from mythology, he said that India has long recognized the power of women, which have been handing prominent roles to Goddess -Goddesses like Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Advocating global unity, he also stressed that in today’s world, self-care-especially through meditation-one needs, not a luxury.
Filmmaker Ashwini Iyer Tiwari emphasized the power of personal choice, urging people to embrace the ability to say and identify that true bliss comes from within. He highlighted the emotional depth of cinema, describing it as a medium that exposes laughter, tears and love.
Encouraging self-reliance, he insisted that no one is coming to save us-we should take charge of their way. He advocated daily gratitude and left external expectations, trusting that passion, not verification, should run someone’s work.
Meanwhile, the International Woman Conference of Art of Living celebrated its 10th year with stylish insideouts: Fashion for a Cause, a combination of Couture with purpose. Top designers and models performed works, with income supporting education for more than one lakh disadvantaged children. The program also included inspirational speakers including President Draupadi Murmu and Sonakshi Sinha, who search for the subject of being discussed with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar through discussion, meditation and insight.
