The update introduces three important settings. The first allows automatic transcription of all meetings, giving users a written record of everything discussed. However, participants or hosts can still opt-out during the session if they do not wish to be recorded or transcribed.

For users with Workspace accounts equipped with the Gemini AI add-on, there is an additional feature. Meet’s Gemini note taking capabilities can now automatically summarize meetings, capturing key points for easy reference. This provides teams with a quick way to review important discussions without having to sift through lengthy transcripts or recordings.

This update comes as a boon for professionals who depend on video conferencing for work and forget to record important discussions. It also addresses privacy concerns by giving participants the option to disable recording or transcription if needed.
