Google launches JEE prep test in Gemini AI, this will help students get into IITs
Google has announced a new feature for students in India. Now, students will be able to give mock JEE tests for free using Gemini. The AI will not only give questions similar to the real JEE exam but will also give suggestions on how to improve your result.

Google has made a big announcement for students in India. For those who want to crack the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and get into IITs, the tech company has launched a mock JEE prep test facility. This will help students to give mock JEE tests for free and understand how they can improve their preparation.
Google announced this feature during the India AI Summit 2026. Mock JEE tests will be available as part of a collaboration between Google, Careers360 and Physics Wala. The feature comes just days after Google launched the SAT preparation test for students seeking higher education in the US.
How will JEE prep test work on Google Gemini?
While students are already using AI tools like Gemini and ChatGPT to prepare for the exam, the new feature takes things a step further. Like SAT mock tests, students will likely find tailored questions that match the difficulty of the actual JEE, giving students a realistic idea of what to expect.
To initiate the test, a student just needs to give a simple prompt, such as “I want to take the JEE exam.”
Furthermore, AI will also help students understand where they went wrong and what they can improve. A student can also ask Gemini to explain the concepts step-by-step and point out where they went wrong. The test is also available in multiple languages, opening up the door to a wider group of students.
Earlier, Google CEO Sundar Pichai had hinted that Gemini is going to add more readiness testing options in the future. After the SAT prep test was released, he tweeted, “Helpful update for students, you can now take the full practice SAT for free in the Gemini app. It uses verified content from The Princeton Review and gives you instant feedback. Starting with the SAT today, but more tests to come.”
India tops in use of Gemini for learning
During the announcement, Google revealed that Gemini is most used for learning in India. It included real world problems as well as exam preparation.

At a time when education fees are quite high, this can be an effective and affordable way for students to learn and get feedback as they prepare to crack one of the toughest competitive exams in the world.
