GOAT vs OG: Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu’s The Greatest of All Time to get a sequel; know everything

Thalapathy Vijay starrer The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) hit the big screens today on September 5. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film has been receiving positive response from both audiences and critics. Adding to the celebrations, the makers of GOAT have officially announced the sequel of the Vijay starrer.

In the end credits of GOAT, it was officially announced that the film will return with a second part titled GOAT vs OG. In the original film, Vijay played the role of SATS (Special Anti-Terrorism Squad) member Gandhi and his son Jeevan. The story follows the life of Gandhi who embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind some strange events involving his family and the members of SATS. The many face-off scenes and action sequences in the film have left the audience eager to see more.

So, this time Venkat Prabhu will reportedly introduce the villain instead of the hero in GOAT vs OG. Also, speculations are rife on social media about Ajith Kumar joining the star cast in the sequel. However, no official announcement has been made by the makers of the film yet.

Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT is likely to set a strong record at the box office this week. Reports suggest that the film might cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. If that happens, GOAT will be his second film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office after Leo.

Moreover, Vijay’s film will not face any tough competition from other releases. Also, in North India, the film will not face any direct competition with Stree 2 as its dubbed Hindi version will not be able to release in national cinema chains due to a pre-decided OTT deal.

Nevertheless, Vijay’s GOAT is doing well in theatres. After completing its run in theatres, the film will be available to watch on OTT platforms like Netflix.
