Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita Dhulipala’s dreamy wedding pictures have definitely taken the internet by storm. The couple tied the knot on December 4 after a traditional Telugu ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. It is safe to say that the Made in Heaven actress’ bridal avatar has become a trendsetter in no time.
Apart from her royal Kanjivaram saree, Shobhita’s mehendi design which won everyone’s heart attracted a lot of attention. According to sources close to the couple, the actress’s mehendi design was inspired by the rich motifs found in the Madurai temple.
A fitting tribute to the historical and cultural roots, the designs on Sobhita’s palms and feet were inspired by Madurai Meenakshi Amman and Sundareshwar.
The source revealed, “The mehendi design created for Shobhita was heavily inspired by the Madurai temple. The motifs were taken from Madurai Meenakshi Amman and Sundareshwar, especially the Utsava idol. The pattern on the back of the hand was inspired by the beautifully decorated padakkam worn by Goddess Meenakshi.”
The design on the inner palm of the diva clearly reflects the outer pattern of Sundareshwar’s ring, which symbolizes the essence of the ‘circle of light’.
Additionally, the combination of these complex elements was a true representation of the ultimate amalgamation of masculine and feminine energies, symbolizing an eternal bond.
“The design on the inner palm captured the outer pattern of the ring of Sundareshwar, also known as the aura, which symbolizes the circle of light,” the source said. Together, these elements represent the divine union of masculine and feminine energies – Lord Shiva and Shakti – signifying their eternal bond through the sufferings of life and their reunion in every age.
For those unaware, almost four days after their wedding, Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita Dhulipala finally released the much-awaited pictures from their big day.
