Echo of the past: The lost attraction of Bollywood music, can the day of glory come back?
The Hindi film industry produced a full album, which had some memorable tracks. So does this mean that Bollywood music has lost its glow? Artists like Lalit Pandit and Shabana Azmi weigh.

The last time you heard Bollywood music and said, ‘It’s really beautiful, it’s running on my playlist,’ and then it managed to be a part of your memory in later months? Racking your mind, and still not coming with five songs? You are not alone.
Twenty -five -year -old writer and music enthusiast Trisha Bhattacharya could not remember anything, but asked the same question about a dance track from Karan Johar’s Kabi Kabi Kabi Gum (Tum Mere Sonia ‘).
“When you asked this question, the first song to pop up in my head ‘Aap Mere Sonia Hai’ Kabhi Khushi Kabi Gum.
Even less than a decade ago, we had some memorable tunes (Job Harry Met Sejal, Ae Dil Hai Mukkil, Jagga Jasos) read the soundtrack. But north-political, hardly anything worth remembering or nurtured.

Music composer Lalit Pandit weighed on the subject and said that these days songs are usually made to promote a project and once the film is done, he has no leg of his own, which was not back in the day. Talking to India Today Digital, the music director said, “The songs are involved to promote a film. It has happened many times that the film is shot, produced, and then these producers come to me and demand a hit song. Finally to put something. The issue occurs when there is doubt.
Pandit cited his own music as an example.
“Now, take only my song, ‘Munni Badamam’ (from Dabang). He came to the song, wins the award and no one talks about it. It is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or Kuch Kuch Hai Hai Hai Hai Hai Hai. Pandit said that an entire album has been completely closed.
Apart from its story, Bollywood or Hindi film industry included music in its story, which was mostly originally. In addition, the routine of song-dance does not hurt once a time. So, why do we not have this now? Some producers care about it these days, and those who either use it at the beginning of the film or lead it to its conclusion, composer Lalit Pandit proves that these songs are just tools for the marketing of a film.

And for manufacturers who think they will focus on serious stories and will not only use music for its cat, this is a respectable decision. But perhaps we can extract a leaf from the book of Vishal Bhardwaj, who himself has employed songs to bring some speed in the film. For example, Omkara (2006) was sung by the so-called item number ‘BD’-Bhumukhi Sunidi Chauhan and Sukhwinder Singh and written by Gulzar. The post-song, the scene immediately cuts the confrontation between Vivek Oberoi’s Keshav and Devgan’s OMI, eventually arrives at a tragic climax.
Bhardwaj director Haider Hyder is another great example of how music can be mixed indivisible in a film. Remember Sukhavinder-Song ‘Bismil’, ‘was excellently executed by lead star Shahid Kapoor? There was an adaptation of a drama within a play of track Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Not only Bismil’s songs (Gulzar Again) were made of rich symbols and stimulating motifs, which reflected the big themes of the film, its choreography represented the hero’s anger, anger and suffering.
Veteran actor Shabana Azmi first spoke to India Today Digital and fulfilled the lack of good music. Azmi was commenting on Hindi cinema’s Deputy Opposition stories, which is being churned by the industry late when she also commented on film music and asked us, “Do you remember any song? Do you remember any music? Everything goes on a crazy speed. You enjoy something for a moment, but need to eat for thoughts.”
But everything is not lost. Attractive, sensual songs are still present (read Azad’s Azeb O-Greeb, Stree 2’s Aaj Ki Raat, The Animal Soundtrack and Kala’s full album). Therefore, the goodness of music and the prosperity of talent are to take both. We simply need more bold and creative storytellers in the mixture. Hopefully, the manufacturers are listening.
