Kaara, starring Dhanush in the lead role, is set to release in theaters on April 30, 2026. Directed by Por Thozil fame Vignesh Raja, the film is touted to be an emotionally based action thriller, with the filmmaker giving details about the story of the film.
Vignesh Raja talks about Kara plot and working with Dhanush
Speaking in an interview with Vikatan, director Vignesh Raja revealed kara Established in 1991 at Ramanathapuram. The film tells the story of a man named Karasami, who is forced to move away from certain aspects of his life but eventually has to face them.
As she tries to protect and guide those who trust in her, Kara embarks on an emotional and intense journey to help them reach safety. With the film’s background focusing on the Gulf War between the United States and Iraq, the film also explores a fuel depot bombing and how it disrupted normal life during that time.
Vignesh Raja also shared his experience of working with Dhanush. The director said, “Dhanush sir is an actor who can be shaped and explored in many different ways. Kaara is not a story that can be considered routine or traditional. I have made this film with a strong sense of responsibility to create something really engaging and meaningful. At this stage of my career, this film is very important to me. I treated the story with emotional depth and strong storytelling.”

Looking ahead, Dhanush is currently shooting for his next project, tentatively titled D55. Mammootty also plays an important role in the film along with Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi.
