Cruz Beckham has addressed the latest rumors about tension within the Beckham family, clarifying that his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, have not unfollowed their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, on Instagram. Instead, Cruz claims that Brooklyn blocked him first.
On Saturday, December 20, the 20-year-old musician responded to online reports that David and Victoria unfollowed Brooklyn due to an ongoing family feud. Cruz shot down the claim directly on Instagram Stories. He wrote, “This is not true. My mother and father would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts straight.” Cruz then made another claim, saying, “They got blocked…as did I.”
As of December 21, Brooklyn is not following his parents or any of his family members, including siblings Romeo Beckham, Cruz Beckham, and Harper Beckham. The rest of the family also does not follow Brooklyn on Instagram. Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, is also not following David or Victoria Beckham or Brooklyn’s siblings, and none of them follow her.
Brooklyn has not responded publicly to Cruz’s claims. David and Victoria Beckham have also not commented directly. However, a spokesperson for Victoria Beckham told People that Cruise was “responding to stories that (his) parents unfollowed their son, which is not true.”
Cruz Beckham protests false reports
Cruz made it clear that he did not want misleading stories about his family to spread. Cruz posted screenshots of media reports, including the Daily Mail, to emphasize that the stories reported online were false. According to him, the family realized when they came to know that they had been blocked.
This is why fans think the feud is years old
This is not the first time the Beckham family has faced speculation of internal tensions. In May, an insider told E! It is reported that issues may arise during the wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham in April 2022.
“Brooklyn and Nicola thought Marc Anthony would give them their first dance as a gift,” the insider said. However, things reportedly turned awkward when Marc Anthony said, “Let’s hear it from the most beautiful woman in the room… Victoria Beckham.”
According to the source, “Brooklyn was confused about how to react and was given a very awkward situation.” The insider said Nicola “walked out of the room grumbling” but later returned to enjoy the rest of the festivities.
Despite the rumors, Brooklyn recently suggested he is focusing on his marriage. “People will always be there to spread negativity, but I’m lucky to have an extremely supportive wife,” he said in an interview with the Daily Mail on 24 September. He added, “We keep our heads down and stay out of the spotlight. And we’re happy.”
