This is not the first time Alaska Airlines has come into the limelight this year. In January, one of the airline’s Boeing 737-9 Max airplanes had to make an emergency landing after a door opened in mid-air just minutes after takeoff. Video taken by passengers showed that the mid-cabin exit door was completely separated from the aircraft.
In August, a passenger was arrested in Australia after he exited a stationary Jetsera flight through the emergency exit, walked along the wing, and climbed onto a jet engine on the tarmac at Melbourne Airport. He was detained by the aircrew and ground staff before being arrested by the police.
According to the police statement, the person, identified as Audrey Varghese, was arrested for alleged aggressive behavior and violating aircraft security protocols.
