Cine organization has demanded investigation after actor Rajesh Sharma fell ill due to insect bite on Fauji sets.

In a statement shared on Twitter, AICWA urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to order a high-level inquiry into the incident. The cine employees’ body also demanded that the film’s producers bear the actor’s medical expenses and demanded strict legal action if any negligence is found during the investigation.
The statement issued by AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta raised questions about whether proper emergency protocols were followed on the film sets. The association raised several concerns and asked that if Sharma’s condition had become so critical during the shooting then why was he not immediately admitted to a major hospital in Hyderabad.
It also questioned whether adequate emergency medical aid was available on set, whether mandatory health and workplace safety protocols were followed, and what exactly happened at the shooting site that caused the actor’s condition to deteriorate so rapidly.
Calling for a detailed investigation, the association said, “The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) urges the Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. Revanth Reddy, to order an immediate high-level inquiry into the incident that occurred on the Fauji shooting set at Ramoji Film City. The investigation should determine the exact cause of actor Rajesh Sharma’s medical emergency, examine whether all workplace safety, hygiene and emergency medical protocols were followed, and investigate whether the producer, the production house or any other Any negligence on the part of the responsible authority (sic) should be identified.”

The organization further said that if any lapse or negligence is revealed in the investigation, then strict legal action should be taken against all those found responsible. It says no individual or production house, regardless of the scale or budget of the film, should be exempted from accountability.
AICWA also urged the manufacturers to bear the entire cost of Sharma’s medical treatment and ensure that he gets the best possible care until his full recovery.
According to an official statement shared by actor Sudeepa Chatterjee on social media on July 8, Sharma was bitten by an insect or poisonous spider while shooting for Fauji in Ramoji Film City. The incident reportedly happened after pack-up when the actor was interacting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation.
Initially, the bite did not appear serious, and Sharma did not seek immediate medical attention. However, about six hours later, he started having severe pain in his right leg and started feeling unwell. Despite his deteriorating condition, he boarded a flight to Kolkata.
During the journey, the actor developed high fever, became restless and his condition worsened. The next day, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital in Dhakuria, Kolkata.
Chatterjee’s statement said that Sharma’s condition remains critical and he is still not out of danger. He is suffering from persistent high fever, shortness of breath and a rapidly spreading infection in his right leg. The infection has reportedly spread from his toes to his knee, causing large blisters to develop on the affected area, while doctors are keeping a close eye on him and conducting further investigations.
