Snowpiercer (2013) – USD 87 million
Evans starred as Curtis Everett in Snopier, who was a diastopian science-fi thriller directed by South Korean filmmaker Bong June Ho. Set into a post-epocalliptic world where the last surviving human rides a moving train, the film class struggle and other deep social inequalities. The Curtis leads a revolution against the oppressive upper class that controls the front of the train. The film received deep critical appreciation for its ideas-staggering story, intensive action scenes and entertaining performance of Evans. Snopeiercer earned 87 million USD worldwide, one of the most successful non-MCU undertakings of the actor.
Not another teen film (2001) – USD 66 million
One of the early roles of Evans was not in the film. He played the role of Jake Wiler, who was a conservative high school Jock, which takes an unpopular girl on a condition to convert into a prom queen. Comedy was packed with over-the-top humor and references to films, such as All that, 10 Things I Hate About You and American Pie. While critics were not impressed, the film was a commercial success, earning 66 million USD worldwide and helping Evans to strengthen its legs in Tinseltown.
Street Kings (2008) – USD 66 million
In this crime thriller, directed by David Ier, Evans played a detective Paul Discate, a young and ambitious policeman, who assists the character of Kenu Reaves in highlighting corruption within the Los Angeles Police Department. The film has a star-stad cast, which includes One Whitekar and Hug Laurie, and distributes a stressful, action-pack straitageum. Street Kings grossed USD 66 million globally, and strengthened the Evans’ ability outside the superhero style.
From action-rich science-fis to satirical comedy and hard-touch crime drama, Evans’ non-MCU filmography shows his diverse acting range. While his superhero heritage remains in one of his own leagues, these films also highlight his ability to excel in other styles.
