There is more pressure on individuals on both stressful, and young and old, as they try to work towards building a good life.

These affect a person’s ability to manage and maintain mental health. We also hear about the increasing number of deaths from suicide in society, which is an incident that affects individuals from all areas of the society.

Every life lost to suicide is a potential and deep loss of opportunity, which leaves behind deep social, emotional and economic scars, while the families are destructive later.

A story is created in society as to how and why suicide occurs. Instead of looking at broad issues, such as long -term mental health conflicts or lack of support systems, or stigma around seeking help, people usually frame it as a person’s personal weakness or an alternative.

It is important to talk about suicides and determine ways to challenge the story that surrounds them. Constant knowledge gaps about mental health and diseases that are related to them compromise a person’s ability to seek help.

The story needs

We need the greatest innings that stop seeing those who died of suicide, or their families as ‘others’. Today it can be someone else, but tomorrow it can affect any of us.

Assuming that the mental health sequence can play a major role in any person’s life, the bottom of this knowledge is all weak.

If we want to stop suicides as a society, it is necessary to accept this inherent vulnerability within all.

Concurrent, creating knowledge systems that insist on sharing more information about mental health and well -being, is important.

Encouraging individuals to inform about different signs and symptoms that indicate the presence of a mental illness, it is a way to ensure that they want help.

It needs to be strengthened through a process of dissemination regularly that tries to break myths and misconceptions that are surprised in society.

By assuming that mental illnesses represent a weakness in a person or that treatment causes dependence to think that a mental health disease cannot affect a child, all these myths need to be systematically ruptured to change the story within the society.

Change the story

With a large population like ours, there is no unique mechanism that will be sufficient in itself to effectively reduce this glowing situation of deaths from suicide.

We need majority efforts to effectively deal with this situation:

  • To discuss general mental health diseases, to encourage media, healthcare and educational institutions, steps to improve mental welfare, and encourage preliminary intervention and seek help for problems related to mental health.
  • It is important to use CSR framework to start a community level through training of local bodies, NGOs, healthcare providers, and to transmit information about mental health and well -being, and to provide effective mental health first aid.
  • Pay attention to introducing psychological first aid programs in educational institutions and corporate organizations, which emphasize the 3-dimensional approach of the link for the look, hearing, link.
  • Ensure that the international guidelines for reporting on deaths by suicide are strict adherence.
  • Actively share the number of public and private helpline that support individuals who experience crisis due to different concerns.

These approaches require support for government bodies, private players, corporate organizations, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations and media outlets, in addition to being embraced by large-scale individuals and communities.

Are suicidal. There is a need to be intentional to make changes, who can support those who are affected within the society.
