Border 2 earned Rs. Collected. Earning around Rs 12 crore on the sixth day at the Indian box office. The decline was a massive 35 percent decline compared to Tuesday. While generally larger scale films tend to decline more than usual on weekdays, as smaller centers tend to decline faster, the fact that Tuesdays get additional viewers, being used to discounts, leads to better performance on Tuesdays and greater declines on Wednesdays. Both these factors led to this huge decline.
The total six-day box office collection of the film was Rs. Approximately 196 crores. First week around Rs. 205-206 crores. Border 2 will remain the top film ahead of competing Mardaani 3 in its second week. Daily business has fallen to a level that has effectively reduced the business to Rs. Has been rejected. The film grossed Rs 400 crore and will now aim to finish around Rs 400 crore. 300 crores and Rs. 350 crores, largely depending on how well it collects in the second weekend.
Borders 2 got off to a good start, but picked up steam over the weekend and posted strong numbers on Sunday and Monday. There was a major national holiday to help, and there were also some block bookings for an unknown amount of organized demonstrations. This gave the impression that the film had extraordinary traction and could collect Rs. crores. 500 crore or more, but the business declined on Tuesday and fell further on Wednesday.
Borders 2 has higher costs involved, but the theatrical itself is performing very well, so recovery is not an issue, and non-theatrical recovery will also be solid. This is the first hit of the year for the Hindi film industry and it should be a super hit. Blockbusters are going to be difficult here, unless the second weekend does something very surprising. Nonetheless, this is another big win for Sunny Deol 2.0, continuing his remarkable resurgence after the historic success of Gadar 2 in 2023.
The box office collection of Border 2 in India is as follows:
