Before O’Romeo, Vishal Bhardwaj writes about love and its capacity for violence
Director Vishal Bhardwaj expressed great pride and gratitude ahead of the theatrical release of O’Romeo. In an emotional note, the filmmaker shared personal insights behind the making of the film and acknowledged the dedication of his team.

On the eve of the theatrical release of o’romeoDirector Vishal Bhardwaj shared an emotional and reflective note. He wrote down his thoughts on the film’s journey before meeting critics or audiences.
As expectations continue to rise for Sajid Nadiadwala’s production, Bhardwaj’s statement highlighted his sense of accomplishment and gratitude towards those who contributed to the project.

In his Instagram post, the filmmaker wrote, “Before the critics speak and the box office announces its verdict, I feel compelled to share how proud I am of this film.”
Bhardwaj gave special thanks to his team, calling them his “real heroes”. He acknowledged his commitment and “his unwavering dedication and belief in his vision”.
He honored the heads of departments, listing each name and emphasizing their contributions.
He wrote, “Before praise or criticism comes, let me thank from the bottom of my heart all my HODs who gave much more than was asked of them – their vision, their honesty, their sweat, their blood and their unconditional commitment to my vision.”
Bhardwaj further added, “My real heroes: Mustafa Stationwala, Faramarz Wankadia, Ben Bernhard, Meghdeep Bose, Arif Shaikh, Maxima Basu, Dani del Rosario, Vikram Dahiya, Ankur Chaudhary, Yash Darji, Shantanu Yenemadi, Krutika Jain, Mukesh Chhabra, Makarand Surte, Justin Jose, Sameer Zaidi, Constantin Minich, Saurabh Goswami and “Also, my dearest.” Collaborator, Abhay Dutt Sharma – who shared my love, pain, frustration and both my reasonable and unreasonable desires – and my creative producer, Preeti Shahani, I would not make another film without them (sic).

personal thoughts
Bhardwaj reflects on the personal growth and realizations that come with creation o’romeo. He wrote, “Through this film, I realized that I have an immense capacity for both love and violence simultaneously. Looking back at my work, I see a recurring theme of which I was not even conscious: revenge. And at the age of sixty, I am now beginning to understand it.”
He addressed the darker aspects of society and his own internal conflicts, saying, “There is so much hatred, violence and injustice in society – and I often feel powerless against it. It wounds me deeply. This suppressed pain needs release. In o’romeoThrough my hero, I slit the throats, break skulls and blow out the brains of monsters I can’t face in real life.”

Balancing this with the film’s exploration of love, Bhardwaj said, “The opposite of this violence is an equally intense force – love. A love that is born out of a lifetime of encounters with beautiful, sensitive souls who have shaped me. A love that hasn’t let me drown. A love that pulled me out of a pool of blood.”
He further shared, “I love this species called humans – who are always caught between two extreme emotions (sic).”
“o’romeo It is an expression of these polarities,” Bhardwaj said. He described the film as “as big as it gets”. This is as artistic as I can be. This is as violent as I can be. This is as poetic as I can be. This is as sweet as I can be. This is as vindictive as I can be.”
Waiting for O’Romeo’s release
Concluding his note, Bhardwaj wrote, “This journey has ended on such a beautiful note that these feelings deserve to be shared – regardless of the outcome.” He then quoted Dr. Bashir Badr: “As Dr. Bashir Badr says: It’s morning, open your eyes, change your clothes, tie your shoes… think about the city that is about to come...”
the release of o’romeo Nadiadwala is scheduled to release on February 13, 2026 under the banner of Grandson Entertainment.
