Barrows starring Mohanlal in the lead role failed to attract crowds in theatres. The Malayalam film is struggling to garner respectable figures, and it looks set to end its theatrical run with a regrettable fate.
Barrows remained in the Rs 10 crore range in its extended first weekend; Preparing to finish his theatrical performance soon
Although it opened with a good collection of Rs 3.5 crore on the first day, Barrows’ earnings declined drastically on the second day. It earned Rs 1.5 crore, Rs 1.05 crore and Rs 1.1 crore on the second day, third day and fourth day respectively. Furthermore, it was expected to see a significant surge but it also failed on its big Sunday, soon paving the way for its dramatic end.
According to estimates, the film could collect only Rs 1.15 crore on the 5th day at the Kerala box office. The total gross collection of Barrows currently stands at Rs 8.3 crore in Kerala.
Although the film won’t cross the Rs 10 crore mark till the New Year, its dramatic ending is very close. Considering its pace, it will end up grossing only around Rs 15 crore at the Mollywood box office, which is a poor result for such a big budget film.
Like its poor domestic collections, the fantasy adventure drama also failed to create any magic outside its borders. As of now, its global theatrical earnings are likely to be around Rs 20 crore to Rs 25 crore.
