Bad Newz box office on day 6: Vicky Kaushal’s film earns over 40 crores
Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 6: The Anand Tiwari directed romantic-comedy is continuing to rock the theatres. It stars Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk in the lead roles.

Bad Newz, which released in cinemas on July 19, is getting good crowds in the theatres on weekdays. After picking up pace on Tuesday, July 24, the Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk starrer saw a slight drop in its collections.
According to industry tracker Saccanilk, Bad News’ box office collection on Day 6 (Wednesday) is estimated to be Rs 3.25 crore. This takes the total collection of the film to Rs 40.20 crore. The film’s total occupancy in the Hindi market was 12.36 percent and the night shows saw the maximum number of viewers.
Bad News is also doing well worldwide. According to Forbes, the film did well in the Gulf region and North America on its opening day and earned even more over the weekend. In the first three days of its release, the Anand Tiwari directed film earned $6.4 million worldwide.
The film is breaking box office records for its lead actor Vicky Kaushal. The biggest opener of his career 8.62 crores and gave his second best weekend collection (Rs. 30.62 crores) after Uri: The Surgical Strike, which earned Rs. 35.73 crores over the weekend. Now, Bad Newz is on its way to become Vicky’s second best first week collection, having already grossed over Rs. 40 crores. His last theatrical release, Sam Bahadur, though a critical success, ended up with a collection of Rs. 36.75 crores in its first week at the ticket counters. It faced competition from Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which released on the same day.
Bad News is the story of a woman who becomes pregnant and is told that her twins have two biological fathers. The doctor tells her that this rare condition is called ‘Bad News’. ‘Heteropaternal superfecundation’What follows is a story of confusion, drama and romance.
The film mostly failed to impress film critics. Tushar Joshi of India Today.in gave the film a 2-star rating, and wrote in part of his review, “Bad Newz is like an Instagram filter that loses its shine after the first use. The surface is shiny and looks glossy, but there’s no content you can sink your teeth into. The writing is shallow and flat. The punches never land.”
