Two much-awaited Bollywood movies, Azaad and Emergency will hit the theaters on January 17. The upcoming films will join the list of current films that are performing at the Hindi box office, which include the Hindi versions of Game Changer, Pushpa 2 and Marco as well as Fateh and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Kangana Ranaut’s film has sold more tickets than its rival release Azaad. However, both of them have had a slow start at the box office.

In advance booking, more emergency tickets were sold than Azad tickets.

According to advance booking, Emergency is leading in the pre-sales race, competing with Azad. This Kangana Ranaut starrer has sold more tickets than Aman Devgan and Rasha Thadani’s debut film. Pre-sale of both the films is still low, one day left.

Azad vs Emergency: Which film will have a bigger opening?

From the perspective of the two new upcoming films, Emergency and Azaad will have a slow start at the Hindi box office. If we analyze the box office performance on the basis of competition, Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial debut of the historical biographical drama is also expected to start its journey with a big opening.

The opening day collections of Kangana Ranaut and Ajay Devgan’s respective films will be between Rs 75 lakh to Rs 2 crore. This comes as the makers of both the films have priced the tickets at an affordable rate of Rs 99 to Rs 112 for the standard edition across India.

While Emergency marks Kangana Ranaut’s big comeback after the 2023 film Tejas, Azaad marks the debut of newcomers Aman Devgan and Rasha Thadani.
