Arjun Kapoor has been vocal in discussing his mental health issues, emotional vulnerabilities and the impact of personal events in his life. Recently, the actor shared how he used to be a good student in school until his parents separated, which affected his performance.
In a recent interview with Mashable India, Arjun Kapoor recalled his past academic performance and mentioned that he was once a good student. However, his parents’ separation affected him psychologically and marked a turning point in his life, leading to a decline in his performance.
He said, ‘I was a very good student until my parents separated. Psychologically, it affected me,”
Kapoor’s father and film producer Boney suggested the idea of a break and Arjun liked it. As a result, after completing his 10th class, the actor turned his attention towards films to take a break from his studies and deal with the lingering thoughts in his mind.
Coincidentally, during his summer vacations, he started helping his father in his work. Later, he worked as an assistant director in the prestigious Kal Ho Na Ho.
But, his mother Mona Shourie was not happy with the fact that he left college to pursue filmmaking. Despite his concerns, the Gunday actor went ahead with his plan and admitted that he was lucky enough to get a break, which helped shape his career.
However, when he finally decided to continue college, Arjun was overweight, which led to insecurities and made him always feel self-conscious among others. Furthermore, he had to wear oversized clothes which made him feel out of place among other students.
He said, “I came to college wearing shorts, oversized clothes and carrying a school bag. I bunked college several times. I also failed in accounting but did well in other subjects.” But, after all these struggles, the actor worked hard on himself and made a popular debut in Bollywood with Parineeti Chopra in Ishaqzaade, and became one of the leading actors in the industry.
On the professional front, after being away from films for a long time, Arjun Kapoor was last seen playing the villain Danger Lanka in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. He will next be seen in No Entry 2 alongside Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh.
