Another milestone for 2024 Apple was the year as Cupertino dominated the global smartphone shipment. In the latest Canalis SAIL-in Estimates, Apple had the top-ten most sent phones of 2024, with the iPhone 15 crown as a leading device.
Samsung was the only other brand painted in the top-ten chart, with the Galaxy A15, A15 5G and S24 Ultra cut.
The iPhone 15 earned an estimated 3% of the 1.22 billion smartphones sent in 2024. Based on that number, Apple sent 36.6 million units of its previous-gene base iPhone last year. The iPhone 16 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max were the second and third most sent phones of 2024.
Samsung managed to enter the top-five rankings with the Galaxy A15, which is fourth, followed by iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16. The Galaxy A15 5G came to the eighth place S24 Ultra came in ninth place.
The last place in the top ten was reserved for the three -year -old iPhone 13, with a total global smartphone shipment or 1.5% of 18.3 million units.
Other noticeable changes compared to last year’s list are that five of the top-ten equipment were flagships while last year’s list was four out of ten. Canalis suggests that buyers in the premium segment are ready to choose the top-of-the-line devices-ie Pro and Pro Max models for Apple and Ultra for Galaxy S-Series.
