Al Pacino gives a rare glimpse of his relationship with his youngest son, Roman. Speaking to the BBC, the legendary actor revealed that he loves being a dad to his 16-month-old son, who he co-parents with former partner Noor Alfallah. While promoting his upcoming autobiography Sonny Boy, the Godfather actor said that becoming a father at the age of 84 has been ‘extraordinary’.
Although he and Alfalah no longer live together, Pacino has found a way to stay connected with his son. “He messages me from time to time,” Pacino revealed. You know, I have this little person. Everything he does is interesting to me. So we talk,” the proud father said. The actor used to play harmonica for him whenever he interacted. According to the actor, he has created this fun way to stay connected.
One of the reasons he wanted to write his autobiography was for his youngest son, to try to be around his child during major milestones in life. He added, “But things happen. I hope I stay healthy. I hope I stay healthy and he knows who his father is.”
Pacino and Alfalah welcomed their son in June 2023. At the time, an insider told People that Pacino was “excited” about becoming a father again. “Al loves being a dad and always will,” the source said.
In an interview with The New York Times, when he was asked which of his films he would like to watch and learn acting skills from. “I think they should start with Adam Sandler’s movie,” Pacino said, referring to the 2011 comedy Jack & Jill, in which he had a cameo. “There came a time in my life when I realized I had no more money,” he said. “My accountant was in jail, and I needed something quickly.
So I took it,” he added. He made a cameo in the film through a Dunkin’ Donuts advertisement. However, since his appearance many people assumed that he had shot an advertisement for the brand. “I mean, it’s very unfair,” he said.
