After Love Aur War with Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal to work with Akshay Kumar in Ajay Devgan directed action comedy? Here’s what we know

Vicky Kaushal is currently working with many exciting projects in his pipeline. She is set to star alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Love and War. Now it has been revealed that Vicky is preparing for another two hero film. Ajay Devgan, who recently announced his next directorial venture with Akshay Kumar, is reportedly keen to cast Vicky in the parallel lead role in the action comedy.

According to a new report in Midday, Ajay Devgan’s next directorial venture is a two-hero action comedy. A source told the portal that the Singham Again actor is impressed by Vicky Kaushal’s dedication towards his work. Regarding the collaboration with Akshay Kumar, the source revealed, “Since the entertainer sees the two lead characters playing different from each other, Ajay felt it would be fresh to pair Akshay and Vicky.”

The source also told that Akshay has liked the story of the film in which he will not only be seen doing action sequences but will also be seen doing comedy. The report states that the first draft of the film is ready and Ajay is planning to start the project by September or October 2025.

Earlier, during the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2024, Ajay Devgan had announced his next collaboration with Akshay Kumar. He said, “We’re already working on something together where I’m directing the film and she’s in the film.” When asked about more details, Ajay said that it is too early and they will talk about it in the future.

Meanwhile, Pinkvilla exclusively revealed that the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Love & War is now underway. This marks Vicky Kaushal’s first collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker. Ranbir Kapoor is reuniting with SLB after 18 years. After Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt is also working with him for the second time.

Love and War is said to be set against the backdrop of a war and revolves around a love triangle. Ranbir and Vicky were spotted at the Air Force base in Rajasthan a few days ago, where they were apparently preparing for the film. Love & War is scheduled for theatrical release on March 20, 2026.
