On 23 May, Rukmini addressed the issue in a statement, clarifying that the photos were fabricated and warning of legal action. He distanced himself from the viral pictures and said that the content circulated had nothing to do with him.
“My team and I have circulated some AI-generated images online claiming to be of me. I wish to clearly state that these images are completely fake and fabricated. The creation and spread of such manipulated content is extremely irresponsible and a serious violation of privacy. We are taking this matter seriously and are initiating necessary legal and cyber crime action against those involved in creating and spreading these images. Everyone is requested to refrain from sharing such content. Avoid doing or associating with it.”
