Actress Avika Gor, who became a household name with ‘Balika Vadhu’, shared her experience of attending the lunch hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in honour of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh. She not only shared how her conversation with Prime Minister Modi went, but also revealed that both the Prime Ministers recognised her.

while talking to Hindustan Times Speaking about the lunch, Avika Gor said, “It was definitely a proud feeling. It confirmed that I am on the right track. Such instances give you the confidence to do what you believe in.”

‘Sasural Simar Ka’ actors He said, “I spoke to Modiji in Gujarati and said Jai Shri Krishna to him, and he looked really happy. We have a Gujarat connection. I also spoke to the Vietnamese Prime Minister. The moment we met, he told me ‘Of course I recognise you and I am fully aware how important you are for our country’. It was really beautiful.”

Talking further about the event, she said, “Everyone was surprised to see such a young girl there. Many Indian people asked me out of curiosity what my connection was with Vietnam. But the Vietnamese people were very excited to see me and many of them even took pictures with me, and said they wanted to show them to their families.”

Avika also admitted that when she was asked about the invitation, she did not take it seriously. It was her father who told her that the invitation was genuine and it was not a prank.

Avika said, “It was really special to get that reaction from the Vietnamese people because I have been getting similar reactions from Indians all my life, but being in that place with both the Prime Ministers, and both of them saying that they recognise me, it just melts your heart.”
