Akshay Kumar’s highly awaited comedy, ‘Housefull 5’, finally hit the big screen on Friday, with two optional ends titled ‘Housefull 5A’ and ‘Housefull 5B’.

According to Sacnilk.com, the film recorded a spectacular rupee of Rs 23 crore in India in its early day, which crossed the early day collection of ‘Housefull 4’ (NET of Rs 19.08 crore), the previous installment released in 2019. It makes ‘Housefull 5’ the biggest opener in the franchise.

The film also improved Akshay Kumar’s January release ‘Sky Force (Rs 11.50 crore Net) and last year’s Bollywood hit’ Fighter ‘(Rs 22.50 crore NET) in the initial day collection.

Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhawa’ made a strong start in theaters with 30.5 percent of the morning show, making it the biggest Bollywood hit of 2025. ‘Red 2’ came forward with 21.23 percent, followed by ‘crook Ravi Kumar’ 13.9 percent and ‘Sikander’ 13.76 percent with morning occupancy. Surprisingly, ‘Housefull 5’ had about 55 percent less spectators in the morning show and managed to secure only one space in the top 5 of the top 10 list.

Produced by Sajid Nadidwala’s banner Nadidwala grandson Entertainment, the film has a star-staded attire, which includes Ritish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Pardin Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Jakeiri Fernandez and many others.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the story is set on a cruise ship, where a murder has shaken things just after the announcement of a billionaire. Twist lies in the presence of three individuals named Jolly Onboard, depicted by Akshay Kumar, Ritish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan, with his respective girlfriends, who all emerge as suspicious in front mystery.
