Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is only around the corner, ready to be between 9 and 13 June, and as usual, the buzz is strong. This year, the spotlight is firmly on iOS 19 – or can actually be called iOS 26. Yes, the Apple calendar can change its naming strategy to match the year, making it easier to follow things on all its platforms. The company will not be the first to do this – Samsung did something similar when I moved from Galaxy S10 to S20 in 2020.
The new tagline for WWDC 2025 – Sleek Peak – indicates a strong focus on the design, line up with rumors of a major visual overhaul coming in Apple’s operating system. We are expecting large updates in iOS, iPados, Macos, Watchos and Visionos – some of the biggest changes are said to be inspired by the design language of the Vision Pro headset.
iOS 26
This year, the biggest change in iOS cannot be its name just. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, iOS 26 is expected to bring the most noticeable design upgrade since iOS 7. The interface is likely to borrow heavily from Visionos, with a round icon, floating menu, and a cleaner, with more translucent layers for modern experience. Messages, Apple Music and other stock apps can also see the layout twice – such as a more breathing room between search bar and content.
With visual changes, iOS 26 can also get deep AI integration. It is a matter of improving Apple to improve Siri to be more natural and reference-intelligent. Users may also be able to choose their favorite assistant. In the video format, the health app has also been tipped to get new wellness tools including food tracking and fitness content. And a new battery optimization system can help users to squeeze more lives than their equipment by learning their habits over time.
iPados 26
iPados usually follow the footsteps of iOS, and this year does not look different. Expect a similar look and feel, reinstated icons, gesture -friendly navigation and overall with a more fluid interface. Apple is focusing on creating an infection between Mac and iPad and feels more comfortable. With the key to multitasking for iPad users, smooth animation and more responsible app switching will be a welcome touch.
MacoS 26
For Mac users, the next large update can be called Mcos Taho – although Apple has not yet confirmed the name. Updates are likely to carry some similar design themes similar to iOS and iPados, including fresh icons, transported windows and lighter menu styles. After California’s landmark, Apple has long been named Macos versions, and Taho is one of the names that have already tradedmark. Functionally, Macos can tighten integration with 26 iPhones and iPads, making it easier to work in devices without any interruption.
Watches 26
The experience of Apple Watch is not expected to obtain full redesign this year, but it will possibly adopt parts of the new design language – such as micro -transparency, smooth animation and updated button shape. There is also a discussion around the more intelligent features that come in Watches 26 operated by a mild version of Apple’s AI system.
WWDC 2025 can be one of the most designed events. Apple has hosted in years. We will learn more when the kenot kick stops on 9 June. Stay for India Today Tech for all the latest at WWDC 2025.
