The South cinema industry saw many updates instead of several announcements waves this week. As we go over the weekend, there are some highlights here that stood the most to the audience.

1. Akhil Akineni and Zainab Raoji’s wedding date
Akhil Akini and her fiancée, Zainab Raoji, are ready to tie the knot after making their relationship official in November 2024. The wedding is reportedly scheduled for June 6, 2025.
According to several reports, Lenin actor will be married at a grand ceremony at Annapurna Studio in Hyderabad – the same place where his brother Naga Chaitanya was married to Sobhita Dhulipala. There is also speculation about an additional celebration plan in Rajasthan.
Recently, Akhil’s parents, veteran actors Nagarjuna Akini and Amala Akineni officially invited Telangana CM Revantha Reddy for marriage.
2. Junior NTR and Prasant Neil’s Natnel to get away from dragon title
In a special update of Pinkvilla, it was reported that JR NTR and Prashanth NEEL’s upcoming film, temporarily under the title Ntrneel, may leave the potential title dragon.
A source revealed, “The issue arises as Dragon is already a registered title for a Tamil film in 2025, which officially prevents the production team from locking it. In addition, Tamil Dragon in Telugu is worried about legal complications and potential fan confusion in the Telugu-Bagh market.”
While Dragon remains a working title for now, the manufacturers are expected to announce the final title soon.
3. Kamal Haasan’s Kannada language line
Kamal Haasan recently made headlines after making a comment that Kannada language was born out of Tamil during the thug Life Audio Launch event.
His remarks provoked the debate amid neccess, so that the Karnataka film Chamber demanded a ban on his films until he continues forgiveness. However, the experienced actor has avoided apologizing, stating that he only would do if he believes that he has done something wrong.
