In short

  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may have a slimmer camera module
  • This is rumored for the convenience of 200-megapixel primary camera
  • The phone is expected to come next year

Samsung may be ready to shake things with its next flagship smartphone, Galaxy S26 Ultra – and not, and not, this time it’s not just about megapixel. A new leak suggests that the upcoming device may have a re -combined camera module that finally takes down the heavy bump that we use for all. The latest report comes from ELEC, which claims that Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the group’s own component hand, the Galaxy S26 series slimmer and is working on a new type of camera module for the purpose of making more sophisticated. move? A new approach to how the camera optics is assembled.

Traditionally, smartphone camera modules use thin cover movies between lenses to combat unwanted effects such as ghosts and light flare. Samsung has now allegedly planned to swap them for an inkjet-printed anti-protected layer. This innovation allows for a tight optical stack, shrinking the overall size of the module without compromising the image quality.

This is potentially big news for ultra model like S26, where the rear camera bump has been both a technical requirement and a design complaint. Spreading it down can be a careful smooth device-only in appearance, but also how it feels or sit flat on a table.

Interestingly, Samsung filed a patent for this camera manufacturing method in 2018, and now it appears that the concept is close to production. This means that the company may be distributing one of its most important design reforms in all years, preparing to upgrade its imaging capabilities.

And what about those abilities? Leaks have been somewhat contradictory. A March report claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra can sports just three cameras: a 200-megapixel main sensor, 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a another 200-megapixel sensor for 4X optical zoom. This will be a departure from the quad-lens system viewed on the recent ultra model.

However, another recent leak argued that Samsung would place the four-lens layout with better glasses. These may include a 200-megapixel main sensor with variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0), as well as a trio of 50-megapixel shooters covering ultra-wide, telephoto and periscope zoom duties.

Q1 with Galaxy S26 Ultra is unlikely to debut before 2026, yet there is a lot of time for a plan to change. But amidst a continuous focus on pushing for slimmer hardware and a continuous focus on premium photography, the design with Samsung Imaging Power is ready to balance the elegance. And if they finally solve the camera collision problem while they are on it? This is a win for pockets everywhere.
