Richa Chadha defended Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal after they were trolled for their interfaith marriage. The ‘Fukrey’ actress posted a picture of the newlywed couple on her Instagram Stories, along with a note. Richa, who is currently in the last trimester of her pregnancy, was part of the actor’s wedding reception at Bastian in Mumbai. Sonakshi and Richa were co-stars in ‘Heeramandi’. Also, Richa is married to Ali Fazal and is expecting her first child soon.

Supporting Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, Richa Chadha wrote, “Dear Sona and Zaheer! I am overwhelmed by your simplicity, your commitment to each other and I am glad that you dance to your own tune! Couldn’t take a photo with you as you were busy, but Ali and I love you and your enthusiasm.”

She added, “I love you so much that I can face a crowd in the 9th month! LOL. You are an amazing artist Pair (couple). And your face is useless for the one with evil eyes (And for those with bad eyesight, your face sucks). Love you both. Thank you for the great party, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!!! @aslisona and iamzahero (sic).”

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal disabled the comments section while posting pictures from their civil wedding and reception.

Earlier today, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate spoke about the ‘hate’ that Sonakshi and Zaheer have been receiving ever since they got married.

Supriya Shrinet wrote on her official ex account, “Two people who have loved each other for over 7 years get married. It is expected that they will receive a lot of love and congratulatory messages wishing them all the best for the future. But instead she has had to turn off the comments on her Instagram feed to prevent hate comments from being posted towards her.”

He then wished Sonakshi and Zaheer a happy life and gave his blessings to the toxic trolls.

He wrote, “Wishing you both a marriage filled with love, understanding and trust – something the trolls know nothing about. Wishing you both a happy and ever after – Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal. God bless these nasty and toxic trolls too.”

Before marriage, Zaheer Iqbal’s father Iqbal Ratnasi had told Free Press Journal He said that there will be no Hindu or Muslim rituals in the wedding. He also said that Sonakshi will not convert to Islam after marriage.

He said, “There will be neither Hindu nor Muslim rituals. It will be a civil marriage. She is not converting, and that is for sure. Their union is a union of hearts, and religion has no role to play in it. I believe in humanity. Hindus call God Bhagwan and Muslims Allah. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi.”

After their civil wedding in the afternoon, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal hosted a grand party for their industry friends at Bastian in Mumbai. Salman Khan, Richa Chadha, Kajol, Rekha, Siddharth, Aditi Rao Hydari, Tabu and many others from the film industry were a part of the celebrations.
