Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has signed ‘Hera Feri 3’ with 15 percent interest. It came amid the ongoing controversy around the film after the actor exiting the project.
According to a report by Bollywood hungryParesh Rawal returned the signature amount of Rs 11 lakh with 15 percent interest. In fact, he paid a little more than what he received. Since the shooting was planned for next year and the release was far away, he had to wait for about two years to get his full payment. This led to his decision to get out of the project.
“Term Sheet mentions that Paresh Rawal would receive the balance amount – Rs 14.89 crore – only one month after the release of the film. The senior actor had reservation about this clause. Also, the film’s major shoot started for some time next year. It means that it was not likely to be released at the end of 2026 or for two years.
Rawal has not been well withdrawn with makers. Actor Akshay Kumar, who is also producing ‘Hera Far 3’, has taken legal action against the actor. Pooja Tidke, a lawyer representing Akshay’s production house, told PTI“There will be serious legal consequences. It certainly hurts the franchise. We have written to him that it knows that it contains a lot of legal consequences. From the artists, the crew towards the crew, the major senior actors, logistics, equipment, trailer have been spent towards shooting.”
Paresh Rawal’s character Baburao Gunpatras Apte became a fan-Pasandida after the release of ‘Hera Pheri’ in 2000. The sequel, ‘Pir Hera Far’, came out in 2006. With Paresh’s exit, the future of ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is now uncertain.
