The author of The Simpsons, Steve Pepoon dies

Amy-winner TV writer Steve Pepoon, known for his contribution to The Simpassions, died on 3 May on 3 May 3. As reported by The Standard, Pepoon left his mark in television in 1991 with the Classic Simpasses episode “Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Command” during the second season of the show.

The episode, which is about a moral conflict between Homer and Lisa due to cable TV theft, won the Amy Award and is one of the most famous stories of the series. It also witnessed the introduction of the recurring character Troy McCler.

Beyond The Simpsons, Pepoon wrote for many popular TV series including Alf, It’s Gary Shandling’s show and Roseen. He co-developed the Wild Thornberry, the hit Nickelodian animated series, which broadcast from 1998 to 2004.

In other news, an episode of The Simpsons was recently removed from its planned broadcast in the UK. After an attempt to murder US President Donald Trump on 14 July, the Simpassons episode “Lisa the Iconoclast” was drawn by Channel 4 in the UK.
