Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’ is all set to release in theatres on September 6. The actress announced the same with a new poster. Last month, in May, the acclaimed actress had announced the postponement of the film’s release due to her Lok Sabha election campaign.
Post her win, she is gearing up for the release of her much-awaited period political drama scheduled on September 6, 2024. The actor announced the major update on Instagram and wrote, “Starting the 50th year of the darkest chapter of Independent India, #KanganaRanaut’s #Emergency arrives in cinemas on 6th September 2024. An explosive saga of the most controversial episode in the history of Indian democracy.”

Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, ‘Emergency’ is a mega-budget portrayal of one of the most controversial episodes in the history of Indian democracy. At the centre of the story is one of the most sensational leaders of all time, India’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
Talking about the film in a press release, Kangana said, “I am deeply inspired by William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the essence of Emergency is the destruction that happens when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints, it is undoubtedly the most sensational chapter of Indian democracy and I am eagerly waiting for its release worldwide on 6th September 2024.”
‘Emergency’ also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film’s music is composed by Sanchit Balhara, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Ritesh Shah. It will release in theatres on September 6.
