Cricket fans are currently bent on IPL season 2025. The season will end on May 25, and the audience can either tune on TV or watch matches live because they are being streamted on the Jiohotstar app and website. Jiohotstar can either get Jiohotstar membership to reach the audience or get JioTV premium membership to reach Jiohotstar. Both Jiohotstar and JioTV premium are available on the basis of membership. However, there are some Jio mobile schemes that provide free membership to these OTT platforms.

But what is JioTV premium – and is it different from Jiohotstar?

Well, jiohotstar is a standalone OTT platform, while JioTV premium is a subscription-based service that acts as an OTT aggregator, allowing users to stream shows, movies and sports programs from many services-all in an app. It provides users access to various OTT platforms, including Sony Live, Zee 5, Discovery+, Sun NXT, Lionsgate Play, Chaupal, Hoikoi, Planet Marathi and Kancha Lanca on the giocinema premium, Disney+ Hotstar and regional materials on Lanca.

Jio prepaid scheme with free jioTV premium

So, which JIO schemes provide free access to JioTV premium? As explained by Telecom Talk, currently only two Jio prepaid schemes include a complimentary Jio premium membership – Rs 445 and Rs 175.

Jio Rs 445 Plan: This plan offers daily data, unlimited voice calls and 2 GB of 100 SMS per day with validity of 28 days. Eligible users also have access to unlimited 5G data and 50GB jioaicloud storage. Additionally, as part of Jio’s ongoing “unlimited” proposal, the plan also includes a 90-day membership of 90-day for Jiohotstar.

JIO RS 175 Scheme: Now it is a data-cavalry designed for users who have a separate regular plan and want to top-up a data. It provides 10GB data with a validity of 28 days, and once the data range is finished, the speed decreases to 64 kbps. The scheme also includes access to JioTV premium, which is bundling the same range of OTT platforms available with a plan of Rs 445.

Although this plan does not come up with calling or SMS benefits, it is the cheapest option for users seen to stream IPL matches and other OTT content. This scheme is also an option for users who already have a JIO scheme and cannot start with a dedicated comprehensive plan. Instead, the scheme adds top-up data and membership.

These are currently only two prepaid schemes that bundle with JioTV premium. However, Jio has not clarified whether more plans will be added or if this proposal is available for a limited time. Therefore, users wishing to watch the ongoing IPL season want to get the plans quickly.
