Telugu superstar Nagarjuna has apologised after facing widespread criticism following his bodyguard misbehaving with a fan.
Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni on Sunday apologised to a fan after he was manhandled by the actor’s bodyguards. A video of the incident went viral, drawing strong reactions from netizens. The actor promised that he will take necessary precautions to prevent a repeat of the incident.
The incident is reportedly filmed inside an airport, where a fan attempts to approach Nagarjuna while he is passing through a busy area. However, the actor moves on without looking at the fan while his bodyguards push the fan away. Many on the internet have criticised the actor over the incident.
Sharing the video, the actor wrote, “This just came to my notice – this shouldn’t have happened!! I apologise to the gentleman 🙠and will take necessary precautions to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future!!,” he wrote on X.
Nagarjuna has a huge fan following in South India, especially in the Telugu states. Although he is best known for his work in Telugu films, he has also acted in Tamil and Hindi films.
He has starred in critically acclaimed films such as Geethanjali and Ninne Pelladatha, which won the National Film Award, as well as Annamayya, which received a Special Mention National Film Award for his acting. His decades-long career, which peaked in the 1990s and early 2000s, delivered several blockbusters including Killer, President Gari Pellam and Varasudu.
