The Bangladeshi court on Thursday issued a new arrest warrant, which was issued a new arrest warrant against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her daughter Saiima accused Putul and 17 others of purchasing a residential plot through “fraud” in a graft case.
On Thursday, Senior Special Judge Zakir Hussain Galib, Dhaka Metropolitan, accepted the charge sheet presented by the Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC).
As the accused was missing, the court issued arrest warrants against him.
“Senior Special Judge Mohammad Zakir Hussain Galib, Senior Special Judge of Metropolitan, issued a warrant, accepting the ACC charge sheet in the case,” a statutory graft agency prosecutor Mir Ahmed Salam told reporters.
He said that the judge asked the ACC to submit its investigation report to the state to submit its investigation report on 4 May to submit its investigation report by the state -run RJDhani Greece Kartripakkha (Rajuk) operated by the state in Purbachal area on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka.
The ACC filed a case against the prefabricated premiere on January 12, 2025, and other co-composed, most government officials.
According to the charge sheet, Putul illegally influenced her then Prime Minister Mother Hasina to get the conspiracy and implement it instead of Rajuk, violating laws, rules, policies and legal procedures about the allocation of plots in Purbachal New City Housing Project.
The ACC alleged that Putul had done “despite the fact that he and his family members had a house or flat or housing facility in a region under the jurisdiction of Rajuk in Dhaka city”.
Putul is serving as the South East Asian Regional Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) located in New Delhi since 1 November 2023.
Bangladesh’s International Crime Tribunal first issued two equal arrest warrants against Hasina, her political colleagues and senior citizens and military officials, who were on charges of crimes against humanity.
But Thursday’s warrant came a day after the ACC when she said that she began a new investigation of the alleged “waste” of 4,000 crores by Hasina, her younger sister Sheikh Rahe and a former officer for the “Mujib Shatabdi” ceremony.
The ACC alleged that the amount was quoted.
He said that the investigation of the case started in January this year. “Our team is currently collecting information from various organizations.” Bangladesh observed the annual festival with the 100th birthday of Bangladesh, the founder father of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman, with the 100th birthday of Bangladesh in 2020, while Hasina’s Awami League was in power.
Rehana did not hold any official post in the previous regime, while the third man investigated by the ACC is Kamal Abdul Nasar Chaudhary, a former principal secretary of the government, who served as the chief coordinator of the festival after retiring from a government job.
ACC President Mohammad Abdul Momeman said earlier this week that there was no difference between the former premiere and a specific corrupt person and “the process of bringing back a corrupt fugitive is the same, whether it is Hasina or someone else”.
Hasina is also accused of several allegations such as mass murders and crimes against humanity, while these cases were being filed with Bangladesh’s International Crime Tribunal.
The tribunal was formed originally to try stricter colleagues of Pakistan soldiers during Bangladesh’s 1971 liberation war and many of them were tried and later executed after the appeal process ended.
Hasina’s 16 -year -old Awami League regime was topped on August 5 last year in a student -led violent mass rebellion. Since then, 77 -year -old Hasina has been living in India secretly after leaving Bangladesh.
New Delhi has not yet responded to the request made by the interim government of Bangladesh for extradition of Hasina last year.
