President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that new talks were working in Gaza with the aim of releasing more hostages from Hamas captivity.
Netanyahu told reporters at the Oval Office, “We are now working on another deal, we hope we will succeed, and we are committed to take out all the hostages.”
Trump said for his share: “We are trying hard to get the hostages out. We are seeing another ceasefire, we will see what happens.”
Netanyahu said that “the hostages are in pain, and we want to get them out.”
The Israeli leader sitting next to Trump highlighted a former hostage release agreement in part by Trump’s regional envoy Steve Witkoff that “was out of 25”.
Netanyahu’s journey is after the collapse of Israel’s six -week truste with the Palestinian group Hamas, with an unprecedented attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, triggering Gaza’s Israeli invasion.
On March 18, the delicate ceasefire ended with the launch of Israeli aerial attacks on Gaza.
Recently, Trus had allowed the withdrawal of 33 Israeli hostages, out of which eight had died, in exchange for the release of some 1,800 Palestinians held in Israeli jails.
The Prime Minister and his government maintains – against the advice of most hostage families – that the only way increased military pressure is the only way to force Hamas to return the remaining hostages, dead or living.
Out of 251 hostages kidnapped during Hamas’s October 7 attack, 58 remain in captivity in Gaza, including 34, which the Israeli army says that they have died.
On another issue, Tram again plugged it on Monday, after the United States’s delay on his multi-critical idea and displaced his two million people, and displaced his two million people.
“I think this is an incredible piece of important real estate, and I think it’s something we will join,” Trump said.
Trump has repeatedly talked about Gaza, which the Palestinians have said as a professional opportunity for the US as their own future position, saying that Gaza can be converted into “Riviera of the Middle East”.
Countries around the world and especially Arab countries have strictly rejected the proposal including Egypt and Jordan, where Trump suggested that Gaza’s Palestinians be sent to live.
“But you know, having a peace force like the United States, controlling the Gaza Strip and ownership would be a good thing right now … I hear that I am killing everyone and have Hamas and problems,” said Trump.
He said: “And if you take people, Palestinians, and take them to different countries, and you have many countries that will do so, and you really have a freedom, a freedom field.”
