As the US Health and Human Services Department goes through major changes and job cuts, one of the country’s top vaccine experts, Dr. Peter Marx has warned that these decisions are making the United States a “weak nation”.

Dr. Marx recently stepped into the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Biologics Evolution and Research.

He played an important role in approving vaccines and advanced remedies such as gene therapy, and was also part of “Operation War Speed”, which quickly developed the US government’s program to develop and distribute the Kovid -19 vaccine.

Health Secretary Robert F. Under Kennedy Junior, he was given the option to leave or remove after restructuring plans, when he was left, his resignation came, which is known to spread the same.

Talking to CNN, Marx said Shake-up has severely weakened the country’s ability to handle health emergencies.

“I leave behind those who were trying my best to try to speed up treatment for rare diseases. I also leave a group that was now ready to respond to the natural and man -made threats. At any time, there are many viruses that can come like Ebola and others that can be very dangerous for our country.”

“We had a group that was ready to deal with it, there were man -made dangers that we could deal with. As that of that ability, we (now) are weak as a nation today and our opponents know that we are weak as a nation because we do not have that ability,” Marx said.

Top vaccine specialist warns occur when the US has seen an increase in measles cases, with outbreaks of reporting of states such as Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Marx emphasized the importance of vaccines, especially for children. He urged the parents to vaccinate their children if they are not already.

He said, “It is easy to forget about measles because we have not seen it much. It is not just an innocent disease, a gentle disease. It kills 1 in 1,000 children in a developed country like the United States,” he said.

Marx refused to directly respond to Kennedy’s false claims that vaccines could increase the risk of illness or death.

“I will not argue with Mr. Kennedy. He will have to answer for his lies one day. But I can tell you honestly, as I am taking an oath: vaccines passing the approval process in the US are safe, effective and high quality. The FDA will not allow any vaccine in the FDA, if they don’t give their children,” Marks said.
