Legendary Bollywood actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar died on Friday morning at the age of 87, with an era in Indian cinema. Known for his deep patriotic films, Kumar’s passing film lovers and industry veterans become equally zero. Shah Rukh Khan also expressed grief to the actor’s loss, paying an emotional tribute to the X.

Shah Rukh Khan wrote a moving tribute on X, in which he was called “legend in every sense”. He wrote, “Manoj Kumar ji made films, which uplifted our country, our cinema, and focused on unity with unmatched honesty. A legend in every sense. His films gave an era and left a mark on our cinema. Thank you, Sir. You will always be ‘Bharat’ for us.

His son, Kunal Goswami, confirmed the news, sharing that the actor had been struggling with age -related health issues for some time. “By the grace of God, he left us peacefully. His cremation will take place tomorrow,” Kunal said ANI,

For Anward, Manoj Kumar expressed disappointment with a special scene from Om Shanti Om of SRK, when it was released.

He said, “I am hurt. Shah Rukh Khan has injured my soul. It is a conspiracy to humiliate and ridicule me. This film is not a manufacturing. My devotion has been insulted towards FilmDome for the last 50 years,” he said. According to his lawyer, he had again demanded 1 as defamation as “Kumar’s reputation Kumar’s reputation is priceless and precious”.

Manoj Kumar requested to remove the scene from the film, a demand that the filmmakers agreed. Shah Rukh Khan apologized for any injury to an experienced actor, stating, “I was completely wrong. If he was hurt, I apologize.”

Often reputed as ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his patriotic depiction, Manoj Kumar overtook the legacy of socially operated and emotionally resonating cinema. His most famous works include Shaheed (1965), Cess (1967), Purba and Paschim (1970), and Roti Capada and Houses (1974), which not only entertain, but also inspire a generation.
