Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is known for a controversial controversy, which often make headlines for his bold statements on social media. His tweets have repeatedly debated and criticized, sometimes put him in difficult situations. In an interview recently, he recalled an incident where the police came to arrest him. However, according to him, the situation took an unexpected turn when the authorities finished sharing a drink instead.
During his appearance on Komal Nahta’s podcast game changer, Ram Gopal Varma reflected at a time when his tweets created controversy. He accepted only a few impulse, only to receive a call from director Mahesh Bhatt, who informed him about the backlash. Verma confessed that he was initially forgotten about the tweets that created a ruckus and were surprised by the response triggered by him.
Ram Gopal Varma remembered that many years ago, he thought a lot without tweeting something. Hours later, he received a call from FBHATT, which informed him about the dispute around his positions.
Bhatt reportedly told him that the blasphemy was not legally punishable when there was an uproar. Verma admitted that he was confused with the initiative, as he had already forgotten what he had tweeted.
He further revealed that six to seven cases were registered against him due to his social media posts. However, the situation took an unexpected turn.
The truth director said that when efforts were being made to consolidate the cases, the law under which he was booked was overturned by the court on the day the police reached his office.

On January 22 this year, Ram Gopal Varma announced his upcoming film, syndicate. Sharing the concept on X (East Twitter), he described it as a story about a powerful and menging organization, which threatens India’s great existence.
He assured that the syndicate would be a terrible film – not due to supernatural elements, but because it would remove the unstable realities of human nature and the possible threats.
