Saif Ali Khan Attack: Accused Shirful Fakir files bail argument, big claims in the case

Tejasful Fakir, accused of attacking Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in his house, has applied for bail, claiming that the investigation has been completed and the police have gathered all the important evidence. His lawyer has further stated that Fakir’s arrest was illegal. The court is set to review its bail plea on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

The Bangladeshi National Fakir is accused of breaking up the 12th floor at the Bandra Niwas on the 12th floor via bathroom on 16 January. Allegedly, he climbed the building and entered the house, unaware that it belongs to the actor. The fakir then allegedly demanded money while holding the family with a knife.

According to a complaint filed by an employee nurse at the residence, the fakir initially entered the bedroom of Saif Ali Khan’s son, Jahangir, but was stopped by him. He allegedly attacked the nurse and demanded Rs 1 crore when faced. Later, when Khan woke up and tried to intervene, the fakir allegedly attacked him with a knife.

Saif Ali Khan underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital and was discharged after five days. During the scuffle, the fakir managed to escape but was later arrested on 19 January.

Fakir’s lawyers have argued that his arrest was illegal as the police did not provide him with a copy of the ground for his arrest. He said that it is mandatory to inform the allegations of arrest causes before taking them into custody.

Additionally, Raksha has claimed that the allegations in the FIR are purely imaginary and have been coined by the complainant. He further argued that the fakir did not commit any crime by the police. Even if the statements of the witnesses are taken at the marked price – to accept any wrongdoing – it will still not establish the necessary elements required to prove the crime of robbery or robbery due to death or complaint.

In addition, a basis for bail is that the investigation has also been completed in the case. “All important evidence, including CCTV footage and call records, is already in the possession of the prosecution and the applicants do not pose a threat to tampering with the evidence or affecting the witnesses,” read in the bail argument.
