Temple was burnt, UNESCO site emptied in South Korean wildfire

A historic Buddhist temple was burnt on the ground and ordered a UNESCO-list village to be vacated as South Korea, with wildfires deteriorating wildfires, tearing in the south-east of the country.

The weekend broke more than a dozen different blessings, with four people killed during the dry air season, the country’s efforts to include one of the country’s worst fire outbreaks.

In early Tuesday, the acting Minister of the Acting Internal and Security said that the Wildfire has “affected around 14,694 hectares (36,310 acres) so far, which continues the damage.”

The limit of damage collectively creates the third largest fire in the history of South Korea. The worst was the April 2000 blast that scorched 23,913 hectares (59,090 acres) on the east coast.

“Strong winds, dry weather and haze are obstructing fire fighting efforts,” stated in a disaster and security meeting.

The government “collecting all available resources”, he said.

The government declared an emergency situation in four regions, which cited “comprehensive damage caused by forest fire” and ordered thousands of people to be evacuated.

Late on Tuesday night, Endong officials issued an emergency warning to the residents of the historic Haho Folk Village-a UNESCO-listed world heritage site with tourists popular-like Blaze was closely drew.

Alert said, “Uijong Angle is moving in the wildfire direction,” alert said. “Residents are requested to be immediately empty.”

In Uyzong, Akash was filled with smoke and haze, AFP reporters saw, Korea Forest Service said that the control rate for fire in that area was reduced by 60 to 55 percent till Tuesday.

In the morning, the workers at the Gunas temple, who were over 1,000 years of age, were trying to cover Buddhist sculptures to move valuable artworks and protect them from potential damage.

“We used fire fighting blankets,” Ju Jung-Vaan, Gyongbook, a worker from the Cultural Heritage Care Center, told AFP, stating that a huge gold water was very large to move the statue of Buddha, so it was carefully covered.

Hours later, an official of the Korea Heritage Service told AFP that the temple was burnt.

The monk Deng Woon told AFP, “It is very heartbreaking and painful who is looking at precious temples over a thousand years of age.”

Family tomb

According to the Ministry of Interior and Security, more than 6,700 firefighters have been deployed to fight wildfires, with about two-five-fifth personnel sent to Uyjong.

Some types of extreme weather have a well -installed link with climate change, such as heat or heavy rainfall.

Other incidents, such as wildfire, drought, snow storms and tropical storms can occur by combining complex factors.

In the Dagu and North Gionongsang region, “The wind is extremely dry and strong winds are flowing, causing the risk that even a small spark can quickly spread to a large forest fire”, said an official of the local meteorological administration.

The fire in Uyjong was reportedly caused by a person who was reaching the tomb site of a family and accidentally triggered the struggle, Prime Minister Han Duck-Su said during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

He said, “Most forests are caused by human negligence and the public should strictly follow the guidelines for prevention of wildfire,” he said.

Neighbors Japan was also experiencing wildfire over the weekends, with blaze in many areas.

Japan saw the worst forest fire in the country in more than half a century earlier this month. It is about 2,900 hectares – about half the size of the manhattan – and killed at least one person.
