KPMG is creating agents AI with high IQ and EQ

David Rowlands, the global head of KPMG’s AI, told Business Insider that these agents would work with the company’s professionals, customer service, quality control, insight generation and bringing innovation and efficiency for overall business processes.

Rowlands reported that KPMG is collaborating with technical partners to develop AI-managed solutions aimed at improving productivity and customer satisfaction.

A KPMG spokesperson said, “Soon we will work with an agent workforce, who are well trained, sharp, flush-iQ with intelligence and EQ-one that ignores silo, borders, politics and never sleeps.”

His statement also shows that AI agents are not only designed for efficiency, but they will also be equipped with emotional intelligence, which will enable them to better understand and respond to the customer’s needs.

Other firms, including PWC, are also learning how to integrate Agentic AI in its operation. PWC UK Chief Technology Officer Umang Pav said that the company focuses on using AI to improve operational efficiency, customer experiences and profitability. PWC has already deployed agents internal to handle tasks such as data processing and client communication.

What is agent AI?

This new wave of AI technology, often referred to as “agent AI”, the next big thing will be how organizations have done automation. Unlike traditional AI chatbots that only answer user questions, these AI agents are being designed to complete tasks and be able to make decisions without human intervention. This capacity will allow businesses to automate more complex operations, potentially replacing industries in this process.

“Agentic AI focuses on the opposite decisions to create real new content, and does not fully rely on human signals nor need human monitoring. Early-phase agent AI examples include things like Autonomous vehicles, virtual assistants and coopillots with task-oriented goals,” IBM explains in its support page.

Will it affect human jobs?

While agent AI may prove useful for large tech companies in many ways, there is a possibility that some people may start to eliminate human jobs because AI is giving better and fast results. For example, Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Meta is already reaching the capabilities of mid-level software engineers. He said that by 2025, AI in meta and other technical companies could effectively change middle-level engineers who currently write codes. This will represent a big innings how technical companies look at software development.

He said, “We will reach a point where all the codes and AIs that produce it in our apps will also be written by AI engineers instead of people’s engineers.” For reference, Business Insider said that the middle-level software engineers in Meta currently earns salary in mid-six data-a cost AI can be significantly reduced.

Additionally, IBM also showed its support for AI and automation in 2023. The company’s CEO Arvind Krishna said in an interview with Bloomberg that some jobs could be replaced by AI in the next five years. He also mentioned that Human Resources (HR) could be one of the departments, which could be potentially replaced by AI.

He said, “I can easily replace AI and automation over a period of five years,” he said.
