Sunita Williams, Buch Wilmore returns safely after 9 months in space

Astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore have returned home to the international space station after their eight -day mission, which left for a long time to bring them back. He flew a Boeing Starlineer in space on 5 June last year and returned to SpaceX’s dragon spacecraft this morning.

Space capsules deployed their parachutes before a splashadown at the sea from the coast of Florida. The two astronauts traveled at their journey home for 17 hours with NASA’s Nick Hague, and Rososmos Cosmonot Alexander Gorbunov.

The spacecraft launched a dyerbit burn – a maneuver in which the spacecraft fires its engines and moves in the direction that is traveling, helps to slow down – 2:41 pm, printed down at 3:27 pm.

Crew -9 shared a video of the spacecraft from the space station from NASA, at 10:35 am (IST). Elon Musk’s SpaceX was assigned with the responsibility of bringing Crew -9 back to Earth. Dragon capsules were launched for mission over Falcon 9 rocket. Crew -10 has replaced crew -9 at the International Space Station.

US President Donald Trump has accused the previous Biden administration of leaving him.

8 days to 9 months

Both Ms. Williams and Sri Wilmor, both former Navy Pilots, flew into the Orbital Lab on 5 June last year, which was considered to be an eight-day mission and the first crew flight of the Boeing Starlineer. Starlineer capsules were left stranded after facing issues of propulsion. It is considered unqualified to fly, it returned in September.

Amid uncertainty on his return journey, NASA re -assigned him to SpaceX’s crew -9 mission, and a dragon spacecraft was sent to a two -member crew in September, instead of normal four, to make a place for trapped astronauts.

After a series of delays, a dragon spacecraft took a relief team carrying a relief team at the space station on Sunday.

Further challenges for Sunita and Butch

Bone and muscle fall, radiation risk, and vision loss are some challenges that astronauts face when they are long returned to Earth after staying.

Lack of gravity causes significant and often irreparable, bone density loss. According to NASA, for every month in space, the bones of astronauts decrease by about one percent of the weight-bearing bones if they do not take caution to combat this loss.

The muscles, usually active only by moving on the earth, also become weak because they no longer need to work hard.

One of the most dangerous effects of spending time in space is radiation risk. While the Earth’s atmosphere and magnetic fields mold humans by high levels of radiation, such a protection is not available to astronauts.

PM Modi writes letters to Sunita Williams

Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to Sunita Williams, who started traveling home from space.

In a letter on 1 March, which was shared by Union Minister Jitendra Singh today on X, the Prime Minister said that he had questioned the good of Ms. Williams – who flew into the Orbital Lab on 5 June last year – when he met President Donald Trump and his predecessor, who met Biden during his visit to the United States.

The letter was publicly done after Ms. Williams and her colleague, Buch Wilmor, who were uncontrolled from the ISS.

PM Modi said, “We discussed how proud of how proud we are on your work. After this conversation, I cannot stop myself from writing you.”

“1.4 billion Indians have always been very proud of your achievements. Recent developments have re -displayed your inspirational fate and perseverance,” he wrote.
