Aamir Khan’s most prestigious films: His cinematic heritage celebrations on his B’day

Dangal (2016) – 374.53 crore network

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, and others starring, Dangal wrestlers are based on Mahavir Singh Phogat, who train their daughters, Geeta and Babita for wrestling. With a patriotic core and excellent performance from the cast, the film became a blockbuster, which grossed Rs 374.53 crore in India.

3 Idiots (2009) – 201.37 crore net

Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots follow three engineering students, who Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman are played by Joshi, as they challenge social norms. With a mixture of humor and social comments, the film was a major success, which used to collect pure of Rs 201.37 crores.

Taare land cross (2007) – a net of Rs 61 crore

The film started under the direction of Aamir. It tells the moving story of a dyslexic child, played by Darshel Sarri, who gets support from his art teacher after his parents are sent to a boarding school, who expects to discipline him. Although the film’s 61 crore collection of Rs 61 crore may look modest compared to Aamir’s aforesaid veterans, its touching story has cemented it as a classic in Indian cinema.

Rang de Basanti (2006) – 53.08 crore network

In Rang de Basanti directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Aamir led a group of college students to revolt against the fictional India after receiving inspiration in India’s revolutionary past. The entertaining storyline of the film contributed more than a net earning of just Rs 53.08 crore to Aamir’s career.

Lagaan (2001) – 34.30 crore network

An epic set in colonial India, Lagaan follows the villagers harassed by British authorities before they challenge them in a cricket game to avoid taxation. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the Oscar-nominated film starred Aamir as Bhuvan and earned a net of Rs 32.30 crore.
