US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin made “a very promising statement” on a possible Ukraine ceasefire, but said “it was not complete.”

“He made a very promising statement, but it was not complete,” Trump, who was meeting NATO’s head Mark Rute at the White House, told reporters when asked about Putin’s remarks.
“I would like to meet or talk to him. But we have to get it (a ceasefire deal) with fasting.”
Trump, whose special envoy Steve Witcoff arrived Moscow to talk on Ukraine on Thursday, said it would “be a very disappointing moment for the world” if Russia rejects the peace plan.
