After the success of Udta Punjab (2016) starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanj, it is believed that the producers are now planning a sequel. It is believed that Shahid Kapoor plays his role as a lead in the new installment.

According to a report by MoonEkta Kapoor is developing Udta Punjab 2 and has allegedly brought to Akash Kaushik to write and direct the sequel.
