IPad with M3 Chip

Do you want to buy a new iPad that is light, the latest display package and the pocket is not very difficult? Or you have an old, but an upgrade is long. Well, the new iPad Air is here in India and can only be what you are watching.

Apple has launched updates for iPad Air in India, starting from Rs 59,900 for 128GB variants, while Wi-Fi+Cellular variant starts from Rs 74,900. It comes with new M3 chipset and some incremental upgrade on 2024 iPad Air.

While the iPad Air M2 is not available on the official apple website, you may be able to grab a good deal on other e-commerce platforms with some exchange offers. But is upgradation worth it?

Let’s dive a speck-to-spec than I M3 iPad Air and M2 version to see what new and what you should upgrade to the new iPad.

Performance: A new-jewelery chipset

The iPad Air M3 is powered by the new M3 chip, with an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU. This M3 chip MacBook Air seems to have a water version of M3. We saw Geekbench numbers for new air online with visual improvement in numbers. Where the single core performance at 2665 on M2 chip watches was recorded, the new M3 chip 3159 was recorded. This is around a 19 percent increase in performance. Not only this, with the new chip, iPad Air also gets hardware-satisfied for better gaming performance, dynamic cashing for extended system performance and mesh cinematography for efficient 3D modeling.

In addition, Apple says that M3 in the air provides 35 percent in Multithred CPU functions and 40 percent in GPU performance compared to M1 iPad air. The rest, most of the glasses such as 8GB RAM and 128GB-1TB storage options remain the same. The new M3 also comes with Apple Intelligence features on M2.

Display and Design: Still look good

Both M2 and M3 iPad air models are available in 11-inch and 13-inch variants, maintaining a smooth design that is about 460 grams in hand. However, M3 iPad Air introduces a subtle design change (barely noticeable): slightly larger chassis. This change has been made to accommodate the new magic keyboard which is compatible with the M3 iPad Air. This also means that the M3 model is incompatible with the goods designed for the M2 iPad Air.

New accessories: better functionality

One of the standout features of M3 iPad Air is its support for the new magic keyboard, which was initially launched with the iPad Pro M4. The 11-inch keyboard comes at Rs 26,900 and provides a 14-key function line, a USB-C connector and front and back protection for the iPad. The floating hustle allows for several viewing angles, and it also provides a large glass trackpad, making it a significant upgrade to users that rely on keyboard inputs.

Additionally, M3 iPad Air Apple introduces support to Pencil Pro, with support for USB-C charging, which means that you will not have to rely on the Thunderbolt connectors required for the old Apple Pencils. This update makes M3 iPad Air a versatile tool for both productivity and creativity.

Pricing: No increase!

Despite the enhancement, although they are modest as you can see different from the chipset, Apple maintains competitive pricing for M3 iPad Air. The 11 -inch model starts at Rs 59,900 for 128GB model, while the 13 -inch version starts from Rs 74,900. In particular, the price of an 11 -inch model is the same, while the 13 -inch model costs 5000 rupees, which gives customers a higher price than its predecessor.

Who should upgrade?

The current iPad Air M2 is doing retail sales on around 59,490 online which is almost similar to M3. This is not understood for you to buy the old model in that case. However, if you receive the M2-manual air at a large discount (about Rs 10,000) then the M2 is understood. Looks seem, the decision to upgrade depends on personal needs. If enhanced performance, new magic keyboard, and apple pencil pro support aligns with your daily requirements and usage patterns, then M3 iPad Air is a compelling offer. However, if you are happy with the performance of M2, stick to it. Ideally, people who are using the 5th-generation iPad Air or less should look for M3 for upgrade.
